The book presents a collection of works of art donated to the city of Vaasa in 1951 by the Finnish manufacturer Frithjof Tikanoja (1877–1964). Most of Tikanoja’s art collection consists of Finnish art, but it also includes masterpieces by 19th and 20th century French artists.
